I’m a production manager and writer with more than 25 years of creative- and print-project management experience gained at Seattle design firms, ad agencies, in-house marketing groups, art studios and printers.

Nani Prints

With a passion for print craftsmanship, I have managed countless offset and relief printing projects, including annual reports, corporate re-brands, stationery systems, glamorous invitations, local billboards and global magazine ad campaigns.

The dozens of high-quality annual reports I have shepherded to completion top my list of all-time-favorite projects. They sit in that sweet spot where my love of book arts, paper, color, words, collaboration and craftsmanship meet the commercial product.

Perhaps it’s my signature mix of persuasion, humor and print knowledge that has led more than one vendor to comment, “I’m still not sure how you got me to do so much for so little and still have such a good time doing it!”

The great thing about print management is that each new project presents an opportunity to learn something new—and put into practice lessons learned on previous projects.

Nani writes, too

I love to write, especially about printing and design—worlds I know well. My recent projects have included writing and editing website copy, creating structure and copy for a university brand guide and brochure copy for a cabinetmaker.

Friends encouraged me to create a blog to share my expertise and stories “from the field” and to explore a new writing outlet.  Printing Disasters—and How to Avoid Them is the result. I hope its Cautionary Tales and Disaster Avoidance Tips will elicit a chuckle of recognition and help you avoid the many pitfalls of printing!
